The Tender & Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with team members in Norway and UK. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the tenders and projects. The workplace is in UK and you will be reporting to the Head of Tender & Project Purchasing Department.

GETTING A FLYING START


As a Tender & Project Purchasing Manager you will have the responsibility for assigned purchasing tasks on one or more tenders and projects – such as prepare and manage procurement plan, defining purchasing strategy, negotiate and follow up contracts. The matrix organization of the tenders and projects requires good communication skills to ensure good information flow across different disciplines.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • You will support the tenders and projects on all purchasing related tasks, especially large marine operations subcontracts.
  • You are a team player and organised, and you will ensure good coordination with all tender & project teams; establishing and maintaining Procurement Plans according to Nexans Standards; provide necessary inputs to the monthly reporting.
  • You will be aware and try to reach our yearly KPI targets and contribute to improvements.
  • Be fair with the suppliers and involve competition in all purchasing processes.
  • During Project execution, you will ensure high quality delivery, efficient project execution and minimum variations and claims by close follow up of internal stakeholders, suppliers, contracts and deliveries.

YOUR STARTING POINT WHEN YOU JOIN
  • Master degree in Engineering , Business or Supply Chain.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement / Category Management / Supply Chain with proven records of fruitful negotiations or commercial achievements.
  • Experience with SAP obligatory. BI & Ariba Knowledge is an advantage.
  • In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you are proactive, eager to learn and improve.

  • Fluent in English, – oral and written, Norwegian is a plus.
