About the vacancy:
Digital Learning @ UWE Bristol will be a catalyst, enabler, and connector, enriching and enhancing problem-based learning and the wider student experience. All our students will benefit from a high quality digitally enabled learning and teaching environment which fosters innovation, collaboration, and inclusion.
We have a 4-month temporary vacancy working as part of the Digital Learning Service supporting our College of Health, Science and Society (CHSS) as a Learning Technologist. This role will require excellent IT literacy and an ability and an ability to problem solve and desire to learn new systems and skills.
This digital technology focused role would mainly involve:
- Triaging enquiries to our college portfolio support mailbox from students, staff and external partners
- Dealing as first line support
- There will also be the occasional requirement to help out academic and technical staff to facilitate some of the Immersive VR sessions currently booked at our Glenside campus.
- Troubleshooting IT and user issues
- Responding to emails - Offering support (signposting, written response and by video call) for core software.
- Using Microsoft Teams and other MS Tools
About you:
You are ambitious, inclusive, innovative, collaborative, and enterprising.
You are interested in technology, are a fast learner and possibly from a teaching or mentoring background. You have high attention to detail and have comprehensive IT literacy. You have excellent communication skills and are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Where is this role based?
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed, while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further. Some time will also be spent working at our Glenside campus.
The campus has excellent transport links; we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
