Temporary General Assistant – Till Operator

Location:
Norton Garden Centre

Temporary position:
Immediate start, 3-month contract

Working Pattern:
Tuesday (9.30am – 5.30pm)
Wednesday (9.30am – 5.30pm)
Thursday (9.30am – 5.30pm)

Alternate Weekends, Saturdays (10am – 5.30pm), Sundays (10am – 4.30pm).
Hours may vary depending on business requirements.

Report to:
Garden Centre Manager / Duty Manager

We are currently looking for a friendly, polite and efficient Temporary General Assistant – Till Operator, someone with high standards and a level of flexibility that would leave a lasting impression on our customers, so that our customers will want to visit us again.

Main area’s of responsibilities:

• Customer Service
• Till Operation

Main Duties/Tasks:

• Customer Service
• Till operation
• Maintain the department’s appearance and the shelves are stocked.
• Support the team in the day to day running of the centre
• Carry out goods to customers vehicles
• Unload deliveries, price up and put out onto the shop floor.
• Store overstocks in allocated areas as directed by your line manager.
• Make sure that the department and store is ready for the next day’s trading.
• Heavy lifting will be involved (Compost, Gravels)

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Good Communicator
• Good Team Player, driven by 100% customer satisfaction
• Flexible with working hours due to the nature of the business.
• Health and Safety Conscious
• The position will require a lot of heavy lifting.
