Hours: 18.5 hours a week. (This is a Monday to Friday position)
Contract Type: Temporary until March 2024 (with an opportunity to be extended)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the People’s Brokerage team. We are looking for a flexible, innovative, dynamic and solution focussed team player to work within our brokerage team covering in the first instance adults brokerage, which also supports with hospital flow and discharge. You will undertake all Brokerage activities providing essential support to Operational teams, Care Market providers and the vulnerable customers of Derby City.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a good understanding of brokerage and relationship building skills alongside a clear understanding of the legislative framework which applies to this business area. Therefore, good communications skills will be paramount to this role.
The key responsibilities of this role are to:
- Ensure packages of care and support are set up, that can meet the individual needs of the customer, whether that is through a commissioned service, or on a ‘spot purchase’ basis.
- Ensure care and support provision, is secured within the agreed pricing framework and offer value for money.
- Work closely with operational colleagues, health colleagues and other professionals, so that services are secured and arranged appropriately and in a timely manner
- Work with operational staff/social workers to prioritise and monitor cases that have been approved, ensuring that the most urgent cases are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner – reducing the risk of delayed discharges
- Be the first point of contact for providers to receive details of availability, resolve queries
