Magherafelt Credit Union is a member of the Irish League of Credit Unions and we are seeking to expand our growing team.
The Teller & Admin Officer will have a responsibility in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the support services necessary to deliver a high-quality service to the members, Manager and Board of Directors of Magherafelt Credit Union Ltd
To complete all transactions in the member’s passbook immediately and accurately
· To process cash, cheques, and debit card transactions
· To check notes received for forgeries
· To deal with cheque transactions when required
· To ensure that all cheques are completed correctly and consult with the manager when necessary to clear cheques
· To ensure that all cash is prepared for collection by the manager
· To maintain a sufficient cash float at your counter to transact member’s business
· To complete the end of day summary sheets and reconcile cash, cheques and debit card transactions
· To ensure that all discrepancies are fully reconciled
· To ensure that completed summary sheets, cash and floats are returned to the manager at the end of each day
· To enter all transactions on the computer accurately and in a timely manner
· To complete all tasks in relation to the cashier function
· To complete all tasks in relation to the foreign exchange services
Loans Function
· To deal with members in connection with loan applications, share transfers and share withdrawals
· To ensure all end of day procedures for loans/share withdrawal counter are properly completed
· To complete a daily check on all loan applications to ensure accuracy, for example, check that a member has no arrears on their account before proceeding with a loan application
· Ensure that interest due is paid before a loan is issued
· Ensure that proof of income is attached to relevant loan applications as and when required.
· Ensure you understand and comply with our loan application procedure and associated risks.
General Duties
· To undertake all tasks associated with cash desk & Back Office support, Loans & Administration as requested
· To provide information to the members and deal with member’s queries
· To signpost all complaints received to the manager.
· To undertake filing as and when required
· Answering the telephone and recording telephone messages as and when required
· Issuing documentation and items of general information to members and to non-members as directed
· To participate in the provision of the schools saving scheme
· To maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products, services, policies, procedures, rules and regulations
· To carry out all general office routines as requested
· Assist in training of all staff as requested/required
· Maintain a good standard of housekeeping to include but not limited to clean desk, empty bins, empty shredder, top-up printers with paper and maintain a good supply of stationery.
· Respect communal areas such as the kitchen or bathroom and maintain standards of cleanliness.
Any other duties as requested by the manager or Board.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract
Salary: £8.00-£11.00 per hour
