Workforce Assistant
Full time position
Hours: Flexible, generally Mon-Fri but some weekend and evening hours may be required dependent on the requirements each month
Pay rate: **To be confirmed dependant on experience**
(Service is a 24hour nursing home with staff working both days and nights, 7 days a week. This role will require the candidate to be flexible in their own hours as needed in order to meet with staff who are working at these different times each month)
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding support and guidance to the workforce, to assist the Home Manager in supporting, developing, and managing the whole staff team.
The successful candidate will thrive in a busy but caring environment, be very organised and able to manage their own time and workload.
You must be a ‘people person’ but equally discreet, professional, and able to maintain professional boundaries as this role will require you to work closely with the management team and as such be privy to sensitive and confidential information.
You will also need to be competent in basic computer skills, such as use of word, excel and sending/receiving emails.
Experience in a similar role, working at a senior level, and knowledge/experience of working in a care setting would all be beneficial.
The role will include:
· Carrying out supervisions and appraisals with staff in the home and ensuring any issues or training needs are identified and referred to the appropriate person.
· Maintaining up to date records, matrixes, and spreadsheets
· Carrying out exit interviews with staff.
· Carrying out return to work interviews with staff
· Overseeing staffing rotas, staff levels, skill mix and staff allocation in the home.
· Overseeing staff absence levels and arranging/carrying out reviews with individuals as needed.
· Carrying out routine or new health reviews with staff, formulating risk assessments and management plans (with support from Home Manager)
· Working with the homes administration team and Home Manager to feedback outcomes, in order to inform further decisions.
· Being a supportive point of contact for the workforce.
· Holding regular 1:1 sessions with individual staff members, and carrying out practical observations.
· Shared on call phone cover of absence reporting line and arranging agency cover as required
