Chiltern Transport Consortium (CTC) is an innovative cross-border collaborative service that provides a high quality fleet provision for seven police organisations nationally. As a long-standing collaboration, CTC, continues to grow, offering best value for money for all forces through continuing to deliver efficiency savings.

We are now looking to recruit a telematics and insurance co-ordinator to work within a small team to oversee the police motor claims and telematics systems, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of all telematics and motor insurance functions. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that all Police motor claims are recorded and handled appropriately through the force insurers, and ensuring maximum loss recovery is achieved for all non-fault vehicle incidents. Day-to-day you will be reviewing all incidents involving police vehicles, using your knowledge of the road traffic act and case laws to determine the most appropriate course of action and achieve positive outcomes for the forces. You will find synergy between insurance processes and the telematics system, and take responsibility for ensuring high standards in telematics provision, including arranging installation and service recalls, proactively identifying potential issues and rectifying this with the supplier, and utilising all outcomes of telematics to deliver efficiency savings and inform strategic decisions across all areas of policing.

The role is ideal for individuals that thrive in a busy, varied environment, where no two days are the same, using your own initiative to problem solve and find/propose solutions or new ideas. Experience in motor insurance and/or telematics systems will be an advantage, however is not essential, as support and training will be provided within the role. The successful candidate will be a strong self-starter, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be inquisitive by nature, always seeking to understand the underpinning principles of tasks you are completing and using initiative to apply these principles to different scenarios. You will be experienced in building strong, working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (both internal and external) and communicating effectively both verbally and written. High attention to detail along with a 'get it right first time' mentality will be the core pillars to which you'll work, along with showing integrity and compassion in the work place.

If you would like any further information around the role, please contact [email protected].

As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 24 days annual leave per annum, pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
