Field Engineer for Telecom equipment installation. SMART sites, with electrical background needed.
£35-45,000 OTE
(Overnight allowances and bonuses also)

Due to company growth, Shields Environmental is recruiting for a Field Deployment Engineer Team Lead. The purpose of the role consists of two main objectives; to lead and develop the Field Engineers in our Telecom Projects as directed by the Delivery Manager and to ensure all deployment activities are undertaken with due care for quality, safety and environmental purposes on customer sites across the UK.
The perfect candidate will be someone who is capable of showing great leadership, not afraid to take on responsibility. Shields can offer industry training but we need you to been qualified as an electrician, and have years of experience dealing with eltrical equipment and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all equipment is fully maintained and being used correctly
- Where needed support with accurate project documentation, handover packs, install photos etc.
- Electrical testing and inspection experience (NIC EIC)
- Installing, handling, and commissioning of lead acid and lithium-ion batteries safely
- Installing electrical smart meters and current transformers with electrical distribution boards
- Good IT skills required to update equipment firmware via a laptop and record information in Microsoft programs
- Installing telecommunications equipment with a high standard of quality in your work
- Complete Fault Finding. Ability to take instructions (written and/or verbal) and work with the team to resolve outstanding issues.
We need:
- BMS experience advantageous, integrating temperature sensors, air con protocol converters
- Be knowledgeable in installation of electrical cabling (PVC, SWA), cable terminations, cable labelling.
