Job description
AWTG is a leading Telecommunications service provider based in Acton London. As part of our continued growth and expansion plans, we’re seeking an experienced Consultant Manager to join our growing team.
This key role will entail working within our Service Delivery team across a multitude of projects with diverse requirements. The ability to quickly understand user and business requirements and be able to turn them into concrete solution specifications is paramount. AWTG is delivering multiple 5G test beds across the UK and we require a highly capable consultant who can work with our partners to develop their high level 5G use case ideas into concrete low-level design documents and then work with the partners to test these use cases on our testbeds and document results and findings. Your findings will be used to report back to the Department for Media, Culture and Sports and help inform the overall 5G strategy for the UK.
The consultant must have the ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders to gather requirements and fine-tune them into a set of achievable deliverables. You must be able to translate user/business requirements into business documents that can be used to source an off the shelf solution or working with our Innovations and solutions department, develop a bespoke Hardware/Software solution. Once a solution has been secured the consultant would need to assist the partners to develop a test regime and assist them with the testing and documenting of results.
This is a permanent role and you will be working on leading-edge 5G testbeds and assisting large multinational businesses to develop their future 5G enabled products and services. Given the nature of the role is client-facing, the right candidate must have excellent English Language and Written skills to the standard of a native speaker. You will be working for our 5G Programme Manager and be supported by the 5G delivery Manager as well as our wider UK based delivery teams, however, you must be confident to work independently at client locations when required. It is not necessary to have an in-depth view of 5G radio or core network technology but an understanding of cellular network architecture would be beneficial. This role is focused on developing 5G use cases and not on developing 5G technology solutions.
The right candidate will display a robust “can do” attitude and not be phased by new technology challenges where standard off the shelf solutions are not available.
Experience and Skills:
Degree level education – Telecommunications related subject area would be preferable but not essential.
Minimum 5 Years Telecoms industry experience
High Level understanding of 3G and LTE network architecture
