Job description
Callaway County Joint Communications is accepting applications for a full-time 911 Telecommunicator position.
Applicants must pass a background screen and pre-employment drug test and must have a high school education or equivalent.
The starting salary is $35,000 annually ($16.83 per hour) + full benefit package (including free health insurance, two retirement programs, paid sick/vacation/holiday pay, life insurance, etc.).
Job Duties:
- Receives and processes 911 calls, including both emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
- Determines the appropriate call types and course of action based on the nature of the calls.
- Receives incident reports, including emergency calls through 911, and simultaneously enter information into the computer-aided dispatch system.
- Operates public safety dispatching equipment for multiple jurisdictions and agencies.
This is an entry level position. Paid training is provided.
