Who We Are
As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services
Our Regional Centres are located at Hillington, Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. This post can be based at any of our West Regional Centres and will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid model.
The Role
NHS 24 is at an exciting time of transformation and is looking to recruit a Senior Manager as Head of Technology Change, Transformation and Delivery who has the creativity, experience, skills, energy and commitment to lead, drive forward and play a central role in the development, leadership and delivery of Transformation within NHS 24 portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management and performance of Solutions Development, Business Analysis, ICT Project Management, ICT Business Partnering, Supply Chain Contracts/Service Management, Release Management and Testing and National horizon scanning
- Lead strategic planning for the ICT service including the development and the delivery of the organisational transformation plan to facilitate continued growth and expansion in line with NHS 24’s Corporate Strategy, Strategic Delivery Programme and Scottish Government policies and strategies
- Most importantly the post holder will be expected to ensure services are delivered to a high standard, making the best use of available resources to ensure that patients receive the best possible evidence-based care, treatment, and interventions
- Lead discussions directly with NHS Boards and other stakeholders from across the wider Public Sector concerning the user requirements and communicate these back to NHS 24 Directors, senior managers and clinicians in a manner which persuades them to review and, as necessary, alter service provision
- Provide and receive highly complex data and information to and from a wide range of internal staff and external agencies, ensuring highly effective communication both verbally and in writing, to support the Service Development Directorate
Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will:
- Be dynamic, enthusiastic, and approachable
- Be educated to MSP, Masters Level or equivalent
- Demonstrate a track record of success in a senior manager position within a complex health care environment
- Have the ability to demonstrate integrity and effective leadership and management skills, plus a proven track record or achievement in strategy and policy development and implementing change based on evidence and research
- Hold experience in facilitating organisational change, through innovative and shared thinking, while focusing on continuous improvement and effectiveness of service delivery. Alongside a proven track record in service developments and the implementation and management change programmes
