Job Description
Duties include aural tuning, regulating and voicing approximately 50 keyboard instruments, primarily in the Department of Music; monitoring the wear-and-tear on instruments to insure longevity of the inventory. Tuning and regulating may require evening and weekend hours during the concert season.
Minimum Abilities Required: Tune pianos and harpsichords aurally at a high professional level; voice keyboard instruments, especially pianos; adjust piano actions at a high professional level; set various temperaments; perform minor repairs to pianos and harpsichords; rebuild keyboard actions; rebuild and restring pianos; establish and maintain effective working relations with diverse constituencies i.e., students, faculty and staff; work effectively with keyboard faculty on piano adjustments; play keyboard instruments sufficiently well to diagnose problems and evaluate tuning, voicing, pedal functions, and evenness of action; express ideas and information clearly and concisely; evaluate and work with contracted piano technicians in rebuilding and tuning.

Minimum Knowledge Required:
