As a Laboratory Stores Technician, you will act as the main point of contact for internal and external customers at our Oil, Gas and Chemical laboratory, ensuring goods are booked in, processed and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Accountabilities;
- Ensure all incoming equipment is accurately and efficiently booked in to our bespoke operating system in order that the customer requirements are met within agreed turnaround times.
- Regularly liaise with Laboratory Manager to keep appraised of workload priorities to ensure any problems which may affect the efficiency of the laboratory are identified and tackled at an early stage.
- Where and when appropriate liaise with customers to keep them informed of receipt and /or registration issues such as delays, etc.
- Ensure all purchase orders are placed correctly with the correct margin added
- Ensure supplier network is maintained and audited annually.
- Ensure effective teamwork and communication between stores and Laboratory teams to ensure an effective and efficient service, in keeping with business objectives, is provided to the customer.
- Dispatch items and samples to customer under the relevant Dangerous Goods Legislation. Training will be offered to ensure ongoing competence.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have worked in a laboratory setting and have a keen interest in the oil, gas and chemical industry.
In addition to the above you’ll also need to demonstrate the following;
- GCSE in Science, Mathematics and English grades A to C, or equivalent.
- Driving license
- Good communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Able to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment.
