Job Description – Data Technician Apprentice

Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice Data Technician to join their team remotely.

The Company
We are an established provider of Structured Cabling infrastructure installations, cloud based Unified Communications, and Network Services including data connectivity Established in 1992, we have an established customer base of blue-chip companies and have delivered growth year-on-year.
The Position

Remote
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Due to the nature of the business flexibility is required in line with Client needs and may include occasional weekend work, overnight work and travel (in line with Working Time Regulations 1998)
Salary:
£15,000 per annum starting salary.
Role and Responsibilities
First and Second Fix installation, testing and certification of structured cabling infrastructure in line with industry standards.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- 1st fix installation of Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a structured cabling system.
- 2nd fix of cabling system.
- Testing using Fluke Cable Analyser.
- Labelling and completion of documentation.
Follow Health & Safety requirements at all times.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
· Due to the nature of our business a willingness to travel is essential. All works are completed on Client sites which are based in the UK and Ireland. Whilst attempts are always be made to schedule works closest to home, travel and overnight stays are necessary.
· Attention to detail and taking pride in producing a high standard of work.
· Ability to follow instructions.
· Ability to work well in a small team and to communicate with clients and other on-site Trades, as well as office-based staff.
· Excellent time-keeping.
· Any Networks Knowledge is beneficial.
Salary/Benefits
- £15k per annum (whilst undertaking Apprenticeship)
- Workplace Pension
- Working hours: 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the business flexibility is required in line with Client needs and may include occasional weekend work, overnight work and travel (in line with Working Time Regulations 1998)
- 28 days holiday pro rata (including Bank Holidays), plus one extra day for each full year of service (up to 33 days max)
