Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in We are seeking passionate individuals to joint or team of experienced Test/Electronics Technicians to build and test Special to Type Test Equipment. This affords the successful candidate an opportunity to work on equipment supporting some of the largest and most prestigious world-renowned blue-chip companies in the UK. The work makes a positive and active contribution to the success of their programmes which employ cutting edge systems and technology. Programmes are many and varied but cover areas such as safety and security of our country, transportation, protection of the environment and many other areas. All contribute to the success of our country, UK PLC.
Responsibilities:During the first year of your three-year apprenticeship, you will attend Gloucester Engineering Training. You are responsible for ensuring the necessary attendance. Year two & three sees you attend Gloucester Engineering Training on day release spending the rest of the time in our workshop in Bristol. There as part of a small highly motivated team under the supervision of a Senior Technician you will be responsible for helping to deliver bespoke equipment to our many clients. Detailed responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
- Assembly of electromechanical assemblies following assembly drawing/parts lists
- Assembly of PCBs soldering through hole and SM components
- Wiring chassis using crimp/soldered/IDC connectors
- Build protypes circuits using a variety of methods including tag/Veroboard
- Test completed sub-assemblies and completed equipment following a test specification recording results.
- Minimum of 5 x GCSEs or equivalent above Grade 4 (Grade C), including Mathematics, English and Science
No specific skills are required however the following are examples of desirable skills:
- Computer literate/Microsoft Office
- Ability to understand how things work
- Ability to connect theory and practice
- Ability to perform assembly tasks using a range of hand and power tools.
No specific experience is required however the following are examples of desirable experience:
- Teamwork, for example Scouting or Scout leadership, member of a sporting team, brass banding etc.
- Engineering related hobbies, restoring cars, motorbikes bikes or similar. DIY in some capacity etc.
- Electronics hobbyist building projects at home, built a gaming PC etc.
