Verdant Environmental Technologies Inc is experiencing hyper-growth in our markets which we service with our green technology.

We are looking for a technical writer/editor contractor who can help us with our technical manuals for our smart thermostats . There will be numerous projects throughout the year because of our growth. If you are looking for a stable technical writing contract, you need to reach out to us

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to gather information and understand the functionality and features of our smart thermostat products.

- Create and maintain comprehensive technical manuals, user guides, installation instructions, troubleshooting guides, and other related documentation for both print and digital formats.

- Organize complex information into logical, easy-to-understand formats, ensuring clarity and coherence throughout the documentation.

- Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and up-to-date information, staying informed about the latest developments in smart thermostat technology.

- Review, edit, and proofread existing documents to improve readability, grammar, and overall quality.

- Standardize and enforce style guidelines, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards.

- Collaborate with the design team to incorporate visuals, diagrams, and illustrations to enhance the clarity and comprehension of the documentation.

- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback from users to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of the manuals.

Required Skills:

- 3 years of experience of technical writing with a strong background in writing technical manuals

- Ability to create images or diagrams in Adobe Illustrator or similar graphic software

- fluency in Business/Technical English, fluency in French is a definite asset

- HVAC knowledge and graphic design/creation are also a strong bonus asset for this position

- Familiarity with Confluence

This is a hybrid position working out of our office in Ville St Laurent.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
