Some of what you will do:
Writes technical documentation on processes and procedures on behalf of Information Services for application support, operations, and other internal audiences. Analyzes, organizes, and structures technical data; maintains the software application and computer system documentation (including manuals); establishes and adheres to documentation standards. Clearly documents and organizes information about computer systems objectives, functions, features, and procedures. Creates and administers standards for terminology used in both software and documentation. Supports the business and development team in large initiatives by performing various jobs which could include some data analysis and developing training documentation and/or delivery.
Specifically, You Will:
- Work directly with Senior Analysts and System Developers to interview them about systems support processes to create rough drafts and to finalize procedures.
- Analyzes, interprets, composes, and edits computer system information to develop end-user documentation, either user guides or training materials.
- Translates new and existing documents English to French, French to English.
- Maintain systems support documentation library.
- Performs editing and quality control functions on all department documentation.
- Develops, recommends, implements and adheres to documentation standards.
- Reviews system inconsistencies; recommends changes to improve usability of computer systems documentation (manuals, reference guides, newsletters, course work, forms, help aids, and templates).
- Maintains current knowledge of technical writing techniques, tools, methodologies, and human computer interface and graphical user interface development guidelines.
- Works on application development teams as the designer of templates and on-line and hard copy forms for in-house developed applications.
- Develops on-line documentation and help screens.
- Supports business and IT by performing various tasks that may include data analytics, and training support.
Daily interaction with departmental and cross-functional peers and managers.
Some of what you need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in information systems or related.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in technical and procedure writing.
- Strong procedure writing skills in English and French
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of technical staff
- Good communication skills in English and French
- Strong interest in leading-edge computer technology
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Robohelp & Frontpage
Additional information:
Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.
May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.
