Position Summary:
Bulletproof is seeking a technical writer to join our Information Security Services team. As a technical writer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Director of InfoSec Services in developing technical documentation and report writing/reviews. With support from our management team and subject matter experts, our technical writer will help document our report templates, process, procedures and methodology.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who understands the IT industry and wants to learn about information security documentation and report writing. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is extremely organized with a keen attention to detail, is willing to learn, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is a wiz at Microsoft Word.
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
Your role will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Work with Bulletproof Information Security Services subject matter experts to construct documentation and reports aligned to Bulletproof services.
- Write and revise content that is both engaging and accessible to an audience with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to gather and analyze technical/procedural process and procedures.
- Gather end-user feedback on documentation to improve usability.
- Help build security report templates in Microsoft Word and other report systems.
- Proofread written client deliverables for spelling, punctuation, grammar and clarity. Work with team members to ensure attractive, precise and professional final reports.
- Monitor report QA system and ensure reports are delivered to project managers on time for client delivery.
- Maintain reporting for senior management.
- Update and maintain reporting mechanisms for assignment purposes.
- College diploma or bachelor's degree (journalism, communications, creative writing)
- 3+ years of technical writing or relevant experience
- Excellent, clear, clean, accessible writing – with an eye for consistency and technical accuracy
- Ability to thrive, without much oversight, in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Experience in prioritizing and understanding lifecycle of documentation from pre-release through to on-going maintenance
- Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes
- A positive attitude, willing to jump in and tackle new challenges - track record of effective collaboration
- Have strong technical skills using a variety of office software products including Word, SharePoint, Visio, etc.
