As a part of this function, the R&D Operations - Technical Writing team writes and publishes technical documents and associated content for products and solutions. The team is responsible for articulating complex technical concepts and tasks through simple descriptions and instructions.

We are looking for a competent technical writer with a passion for writing and technology, strong communication skills, and a progressive outlook. We offer opportunities to be creative, innovative, and able to make a real difference. You will help us research and transform complex technical concepts, specifications, and procedures into user-oriented information for non-technical and technical audiences for developing high-quality software documentation that meets user needs. This is a highly collaborative role where you work closely with product development teams, your writing team, product SMEs, QA, and others.

In this role you will:
  • Work under minimal supervision on advanced, unstructured, and complex work
  • Work with global teams in a fast, dynamic, and collaborative environment
  • Improve the quality of content, adhere to the established standards and guidelines, and deliver on time
  • Meet project milestones and report on your progress
  • Design, develop, review, and publish high-quality technical documentation
  • Seek limited guidance for resolving conflicts and delivering in sync with multiple teams
  • Guide and mentor interns and apprentices
  • Learn complex work from self-learning, training, and shadowing seniors
  • Demonstrate new learning to your manager
  • Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and good judgement
  • Follow existing processes and propose improvements
  • Independently prioritize work for products, internal initiatives, and your own development
Qualifications
  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in English, Computer Science, Engineering, or Technical Writing (or equivalent area/level of education and experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical writing and documentation development
  • Knowledge of software product development and cloud computing services, with a specific focus on Documentation Operations and content management
  • Proficient at concepts, processes, and tools of technical writing and information development
  • Proficient in using productivity tools from Microsoft and content management tools from Adobe

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient at DITA, structured authoring, and component content management systems
  • Proficient in using tools for screen capturing and recording and audio and video editing
  • Experience in working with products and solutions in industrial software
  • Experience in working with global agile and DevOps teams
  • Experience in working with Author-it Cloud and Microsoft Azure
