About the role:
You will be part of the growing Trust and Identity (T&I) services group, reporting to the T&I Technical Services Manager. The group operates five core services, including the Jisc certificate service, a consultancy service, and the UK access management federation.

The technical team are a small and high-skilled team within the Trust and Identity services team, we work to provide support via our email based service desk, consultancy is provided both remotely and face-to-face, as well as supporting underpinning infrastructure for T&I services and working closely with our development team to develop new services and improvements to existing services.

You will initially be expected to primarily support the UK access management federation and the Trust and Identity consultancy services.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Provide high quality considered and timely technical support to members and users of Jisc Trust and Identity services such as the UK federation via our service desk
  • Work under the supervision of Principal and Senior team roles to provide and deliver consultancy services, and document solutions delivered to customers
  • Work to support routine requests to existing customers with documented solutions
  • Technical liaison with third party service providers and internal Jisc teams

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience operating on an IT service desk
  • Experience of system administration either Linux or Windows platforms
  • Knowledge of XML or other mark-up and/or programming languages.
  • Awareness of encryption and public key encryption
