Technical Support Engineer

We are a leading digital forensics company based in Stafford, UK. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Technical Support Engineer, to join our expanding team. Our products are used as tools of choice, in digital forensics investigations of images and videos, by world-renowned law enforcement agencies and in the private sector.
About the work
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a personable and sociable techie, full of initiative, who is keen to ensure that software users are happy. On-going training will be provided to the successful applicant to up-skill and ensure competency in the area.
You will:
- deliver technical support and training to digital forensics investigators;
- lead or contribute to the development of our training courses;
- assist with testing (from a user perspective) software updates;
- gain a solid understanding of how users work with our products;
- help ensure that our customers enjoy a top-notch experience and service.
- suggest more efficient ways of working, for ongoing development by applying user feedback, reporting to the relevant team member.
You will work under the direction of our senior staff.
About you
(i) Essential
Your application must demonstrate that you are able to meet these technical requirements:
- Support users who experience technical issues, by diagnosing problems, helping to solve them and sharing best practices. Using your knowledge of gold standard customer support.
- Understand new software quickly.
- Ensure that users work effectively with our products.
You must also demonstrate that you are able to meet these general requirements:
- Self-starting, diligent, enthusiastic, and professional. Able to work with agility, adapting to changing priorities as required.
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, and a cooperative attitude
- Eligible to work in the UK.
(ii) Optional (but beneficial)
- A degree in a relevant technology field
- Experience in technical support, software development, or digital forensics
Other information about the vacancy
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (negotiable based on experience or law enforcement background)
Negotiable-work options: Work in our offices or work from home, with occasional requirement to work away from the office and home (for attending external events, meeting customers, etc).
Start date: As soon as possible.
