Overview
ChamSys manufacture and develop lighting consoles for a wide range of applications from Stadium Tours to TV/Broadcast and Houses of Worship. We’re looking for a Technical Support team member to grow our Support team based in Southampton, UK.
The role will include:
- Customer support including phone, email, in person and our bug tracker system
- Responding to customer bug reports and software feature requests via support platforms
- Creation and addition of new lighting fixture files to the ChamSys fixture library
- Handling customer queries about ChamSys products and software, along with training & company run events
- Supplying support for internal and external projects and trade shows
- Recognising and escalating enquiries where needed and in line with departmental guidelines
- Be the first point of contact for the department with a flexible ‘can-do-will-do’ attitude
You will work within our Support team, reporting to the Support & Service Supervisor, with links closely to our in-house software development team.
Personal skills required:
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- A friendly attitude and phone manner
- Problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
- Proficient in diagnosing and solving IT related issues
- Competent with Microsoft Office and other PC-based software
- Ability to work in a fast-faced environment with show deadlines
- Customer service support experience preferable, but not essential
- Knowledge of DMX and lighting control systems also preferable
- Multi-lingual skills are desirable, but not at all essential
Hours
9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch (35-hour working week)
It is not eligible for remote working, working from home or as a job share
Remuneration Package
In addition to the salary, ChamSys offers 23 days holiday increasing after two years' service. Private medical insurance, 4% employer pension contribution for opted in staff, free on-site parking, cycle to work scheme and discretionary bonus scheme.
