Job Description

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Project Engineer / Project Manager for a worldwide market leader in the design, manufacture and installation of Industrial Equipment, based near Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, to take responsibility for contracts from handover from the sales team through to successful install and handover to the client.

This is an office-based role but will require visits to client sites. Overnight UK trips, and overseas travel may also be a requirement of this position.

What will the right person look like?

  • The successful Project Engineer / Project Manager candidate will ideally have sound Engineering knowledge.
  • Experience of working in a Process Engineering environment, ideally including hydraulics, pneumatics, steam services and electrical control systems.
  • Ability to use Autocad LT to generate basic 2D equipment layout and plant drawings
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Commercial awareness to identify project variations.
  • UK Driving Licence required.

What will you be doing?

  • The primary point of contact for the customer throughout the life of the project, up to, and beyond, the successful close out of the project.
  • Kicking off the internal Project and producing all project documentation, including Scope of Supply, timing plan, P&ID, and provisional Layout Drawings.
  • Ensuring that the scope (including Layout, and P&ID) and project milestones are clearly communicated and agreed with the client.
  • Identifying all standard and non-standard equipment required, and responsible for specifying and obtaining quotes.
  • Ensuring that all Project and Financial Milestones are tracked and met. Taking actions where necessary to keep the project on track or agreeing new milestones.
  • Capturing any changes to the project scope.
  • Liaising with the client to arrange PDI’s or FAT’s to validate that the manufactured equipment meets the agreed project scope.
  • Arranging the resources to install the equipment on the customer's site.

Hours/Salary/Benefits

The Project Engineer / Project Manager will be based at the site near Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm, and will occasionally travel to client’s sites.

The Salary is £35,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
