We are looking for an IT Project Manager to oversee the workflow of all ongoing IT projects and strategies. The IT Project Manager will communicate closely with the management team, customer (internal or external) to deliver the projects while meeting the expectations from a security, quality, schedule, and budget standpoint.
The IT Project Manager’s objective
- Plan and execute the project in accordance with defined objectives.
Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities
- Work with the IT Manager, to provide project management guidelines for a small team of information system technicians.
- Act as a focal point of communication on strategic projects to management and customers.
- Forecasting requirements, budgeting, and scheduling expenditures.
- Coordinates the activities and flow of information between IT and both Management and Customers to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered on schedule.
- Provide regular status updates on project deliverables.
- Ensure that software licensing agreements are adhered to.
- Generate/update the organization IT requirements.
- Ensure that the organization’s information systems are capable of meeting stated requirements.
- Review, update and generate processes/procedures in order to meet organizational needs.
- Develop, maintain, and document operational processes.
- Assist in management of organization security:
- Ensure that customer and government security agreements are adhered to.
- Ensure proper operation of the physical security systems.
- Ensure compliance with objectives, IT security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Responsible and accountable for the most effective and appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources for the project
- Provide realistic estimates and monitor progress regularly.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 10 years’ experience in an IT Project Management role with an in-depth understanding of computer technologies/networks/applications with “hands on” approach.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Software/Cloud technology industry, including practices, legal frameworks, NIST, etc.
- Risk management skills to assess technical strategies and security controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related experience.
- A management degree in information technology would be an asset.
- PMP certification or other project management course/certifications is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and French.
Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
