ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

Our flagship US mill in St. Ansgar, Iowa is looking to add an Engineering Project Manager to help manage maintenance projects and capital expansion.
The Engineering Project Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerned with process design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of the food manufacturing facility. They will participate in each step of the project from conceptual development to completion and oversee everything in between including the organization, scheduling, and implementation in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations. The Engineering Project Manager will serve as the point person on each project and be a liaison between plant staff, corporate engineering staff, and contractors.
PREFFERED JOB SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering or related field, and/or a minimum of five plus years of related food manufacturing experience.
- Extensive knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state, and federal building codes.
- Familiarity with a wide range of food manufacturing equipment, tools and proficiency in construction techniques, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, blueprints, P&ID's, floor plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills: able to prioritize, multitask, proactive, deadline-oriented, and strong attention to details.
- Sensitivity to problems; ability to recognize potential design deficiencies and develop corrective action plans.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship, strong written and oral communication skills to effectively deal with people at different organizational levels, both internally and externally.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and pdf editor software, as well as being skilled at internet research.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
