Engineering Project Manager/Product Authority
Our client, a highly regarded and innovative company in the engineering sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Project Manager/Product Authority to join their esteemed team. As the Engineering Project Manager/Product Authority, you will play a crucial role in driving the successful development and launch of cutting-edge products, while ensuring adherence to good engineering development practices. You will have the opportunity to improve company policies and procedures proactively and provide your expertise across all projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the entire product development process, starting from the initial concept phase and overseeing it through to market release.
- Design and develop new products, as well as enhance existing ones, in alignment with internal and external customer-driven specifications, leveraging your mechanical product design expertise.
- Utilise 3D CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor & Vault, to create and maintain designs, transforming conceptual ideas into tangible and functional products.
- Verify and validate electro-mechanical designs using classical hand calculations, finite element analysis, and experimental testing. This may involve assembling mechanical prototypes and conducting environmental and type approval testing on a project basis.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality and Production Planning teams to ensure a smooth and timely product delivery process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in [relevant engineering discipline] or equivalent. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Project Manager or Product Authority, demonstrating successful product development and launch.
- Sound knowledge of good engineering development practices and a proactive approach to improving processes.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly Autodesk Inventor & Vault, to create and manage designs effectively.
- Strong expertise in verifying and validating electro-mechanical designs using various analytical and testing methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership qualities, with the ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
