The IT Project Manager plays a critical role in project managing multiple transformational IT projects which have end-to-end impact across the Bakelite environment. Projects are large scale, cross-functional initiatives which include collaborating with senior business leadership stakeholders and their teams. The position reports to the VP, Information Technology and has a hybrid home and in-office work arrangement in the Atlanta headquarters.
Past experience in setting IT Project Management standards, including defining and maturing project prioritization, project methodology, reporting as well as developing internal staff on procedures.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, project plan and budget
- Identify, track, monitor and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of IT projects
- Define and communicate project scope, goals, deliverables and success metrics that support business needs in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders in a clear and measurable manner..
- Identify, track and manage project dependencies, critical path, schedule, milestones, and deliverables
- Identify project risks and problem areas and facilitate resolution or mitigation plans.
- Guide and direct organizing work with groups of people such as meetings, planning sessions, and training of team members and leaders – and have strong ability to prioritize and pivot in fast paced environment when needed
- Self-Manages key relationships with vendors to ensure accountability with regard to cost control, timeliness of delivery of product and services
- Advocate for an awareness and focus on business partner strategic plans
- Negotiate at senior level on technical and commercial issues, to ensure that suppliers and other stakeholders align with the objective and timeframes

PMP certification required
- Experience in Waterfall methodology
- Microsoft Project experience required
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management or related
- 3-5 years in managing large scale IT projects
- 5+ years of experience in IT preferred
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
- Proven success working with all levels of management
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience in developing platforms for internal processes
- Experience in coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets
- Must have excellent Facilitation and training skills
- Ability to work effectively in a complex collaborative, matrix environment with virtual teams in a multi-cultural / geographically diverse environment
- Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Information Technology department employees and customer representatives
- Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units
- Experience with Agile Methodology a plus
- A self-start/go-getter, able to anticipate the needs of their project leader(s)
- Able to find comfort with ambiguous objectives, where the end-state may not always be apparent
