About the team
Our Technical Enterprise Services (TES) team is at the heart of our business and responsible for developing and delivering our IT Strategy and IT business change, as well as maintaining the integrity and performance of our systems, infrastructure, and applications. Technology, specifically Cloud adoption and transformation is increasingly pivotal to the success of abrdn, and we aim to deliver both the innovation and responsiveness needed in today’s competitive and fast-changing investment and regulatory landscape.
About the role
In this exciting new key senior delivery role, as part of establishing our Cloud Engineering and Delivery Centre of Excellence function within Enterprise Services, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead and shape the modernisation of IT delivery within abrdn.
The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for the shaping and delivery of Cloud and Infrastructure IT delivery supporting abrdn’s domain change and transformation portfolios. Projects within the Technical Enterprise Services will encompass the likes of cloud transformation and adoption, infrastructure implementations, cross domain enablement and regulatory changes. The Senior Technical Project Manager will build relationships and engage with stakeholders across the business to understand the requirement of the change, formalise the project and the plan and drive the delivery to time, cost & quality.
The role will work closely with the Cloud Centre of Excellence team to facilitation PI planning workshops to construct plans, manage risks, issues & dependencies as well as the chairing of steering meetings with sponsors and key stakeholders to report on delivery progress, seek guidance and escalate issues.
Candidate requirements
Apply best project management practice to complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business (including small portfolios)
Experience of leading project teams
Highly competent in using planning tools and experienced in implementing and operating financial control frameworks
Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of outcomes and benefit realisation
Proven ability to work in a primarily outsourced IT delivery environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business or technical objective
Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and improve delivery performance
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, and key stakeholders
