In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

Due to increasing work demand, we are recruiting for a Technical Operator to join our team in Cwmbran. As Technical Operator, your role will be to assemble and install seat assemblies to design data, and in compliance with production operating standards and engineering drawings. You will support the achievement of operational targets and KPI's, maximise efficiency and reduce waste and to achieve OTD targets. You will be required to support and promote best working practices across all production areas and seek to suggest and support improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties will include;
  • Assemble and install seat assemblies to design data within required cycle.
  • Assemble adaptor plates, final quality verification and prepare pallet for despatch.
  • Perform mechanical seat function tests.
  • De-snag mechanical installations assemblies and complete supporting documentation.
  • Use and demonstrate correct use of and control of on line tool jigs and fixture.
  • Assemble, install, wire and route electrical systems and equipment to design data within cycle time and DPU.
  • Perform electrical system and equipment diagnostic checks and function tests.
  • De-snag electrical installations and complete supporting documentation.
  • Perform electrical function tests upon appliances, IFE equipment and ESD awareness.

Job requirements

Demonstrate experience within electrical / mechanical installation, inspection and other relative test equipment,
Ability to follow engineering drawings
Demonstrate multi faceted manual dexterity tool skills
Good Level of Mathematic ability
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to analyse information
High attention to detail
Able to build strong working relationships
Display energy and enthusiasm in improvement ways of working.
