This job position is within the Growth and Development Directorate.
Salary
Grade 8 - £30,151 to £32,909 per annum.
Hours
37 hours per week.
Contract
Permanent.
About the job
We are establishing a new in-house team to deliver grants throughout the borough and are seeking to recruit a committed, creative and highly motivated individual as a Technical Officer.
Typical projects include bathroom alterations, ramping and extensions and you will be responsible for;
- property surveys
- designing adaptations
- preparing detailed drawings showing existing and proposed layouts
- specification of works, cost assessment and site inspections
Requirements
You will be required to ensure that specifications of work are in accordance with Building Regulations and other appropriate legislation and that all works are completed to a satisfactory standard.
Ideally you will have experience of project managing building works and contractors and of liaising and negotiating with a range of clients and professionals in a problem-solving capacity. Communication and presentation skills are essential and experience with technical drawing design packages is also required.
We are looking for an individual with a can-do approach who will be able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team and who is able to actively support in developing our new in-house service.
