Planned Programmes are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Officer who can thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
The Compliance & Planned Programmes Service responsibilities include managing Gas and Electrical Servicing, Cyclical Maintenance, Mechanical & Electrical Communal and Laundry Servicing, managing planned and emergency heating installation and bathroom renewals for our 28,000 tenancies; The service has gone through major transformation, and is widely recognised as providing a top-quality repairs and maintenance service to our residents.
The role will provide technical support to Gas Servicing, M&E and Domestic Heating Teams, Bathroom Project renewals including site-based staff and external contractors.
What will I be doing?
You will work as part of the Compliance/Planned Programmes Team to ensure Gas and Electrical Compliance and Heating and Bathroom installations are complete, which will also include new project installations for Fire Alarms and Sprinklers to high rise properties.
The role will also include arranging Planned and Emergency tasks to residents’ homes and communal block areas, and arranging for the installation of new heating systems to properties using an automated work-flow system
You’ll work as part of the core team, setting up systems and processes to provide an efficient & effective, high-quality, Technical support for Compliance/Planned Programmes.
Work will include arranging programmes of work, ad hoc and urgent repairs, as well as general office duties, during operational hours.
Daily activities include:
- Planning and arranging the flow of work across planned and responsive repairs for external contractors and site based in house resources
- Loading jobs on MIS systems, for in-house and external resources and rearranging appointments with residents
- Working together with internal colleagues across a range of teams, as well as liaising with external contractors daily to ensure an effective Planned Programme and Responsive Repairs service is delivered to residents
- Correspondence with internal & external customers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Updating databases and systems.
- Monitor and distribute the teams central e-mail mailboxes.
- Providing statistical reports.
- Working as a team player to make sure all services are covered
What do I need to have?
You will need to have an eye for detail in carrying out your work, be flexible in your approach and willing to learn new tasks to help the team achieve set targets.
In a busy working environment, you will have a proactive approach to workloads whilst also having the ability to be reactive when needed, managing your own workloads.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential as part of your active engagement with residents, contractors, Trade Teams and colleagues to help in completing daily tasks.
A working knowledge of automated scheduling and MIS systems.

Standard working hours are 8:30am until 5:00pm; flexi time is available depending on service cover. There is a possibility of hybrid working in this role after an initial induction & training period of 3 months which will be office based. After completing training hybrid working of 2 to 3 days per week may be possible.
