Job description
We are looking for Technical Officers to join a new team being created in our Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing Service with the purpose of managing and delivering significant improvements to the urban environment of the City.
You will be focused on proactively tackling community impact nuisances, helping to manage and improve Council allotment sites and supporting pest management in the City by problem solving and designing out issues through the use of a mix of enforcement powers and targeted improvement works.
You will liaise with tenants, landlords and businesses to secure compliance with relevant legislation and improvements in the urban environment.
To apply for this role you will have a level 4 qualification, good investigative, organisational, planning and problem-solving skills and work well as part of a team.
The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and effectively with the public, businesses, and members of other organisations. A strong work ethic, ability to deal with a varied caseload and a commitment to customer service are essential.
