Who We Are:
European Tour Productions, an IMG production produce and distribute golf coverage of the DP World Tour, The Challenge Tour, The Ryder Cup and The Open. In this capacity, ETP has produced the live coverage for hundreds of events around the world and not just in Europe. We travel to events in the middle east, Asia and Africa and have produced the last twelve Ryder Cups and The Open since 2016. In 2021, and despite COVID restrictions we delivered over 850 hours of live world feed golf coverage. Our award winning original and branded content is expanding, and we also produce a broad range of content for social media channels and The European Tour website.
What You’ll Do:
Are you experienced in broadcast engineering and looking to excel your career as a Technical Manager on a permanent basis, with the opportunity to work at the forefront of broadcast technology? Then come and join European Tour Productions!
As the Technical Manager, you will be involved with shaping the future of multi- camera Golf production, helping to negotiate the transformational challenges as we move towards remote production and realising the significant opportunities that come with this journey.
This is a very exciting time to join our Golf team to deliver the very highest level of golf content including live tournament coverage, highlights, branded content, documentaries, promos and short features.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
Management and planning of all live broadcast projects worldwide
Working with Head of Production and the Operations & Technical manager to plan remote production projects
Working with stakeholders and distribution team to manage contribution plans for remote and onsite broadcasts (whether that would be Fibre, Satellite, or IP)
Project management of remote workflows including liaison with key technical stakeholders
Contributing to RFPs to find the best technical solution based on budget and production needs
Periodically review stakeholder technical workflows and engineering solutions to ensure ‘best in class’ production.
To conduct site surveys and recces as required, producing all supporting documentation.
Responsible for any technical drawings and technical sheets required for live broadcast.
Maintain technical and operational procedures documentation (e.g. event reports, schematics or technical workflows)
To be responsible for identifying and conducting the technical training and development of knowledge within ETP
Weekend working and international travel during golf season, depending on schedule.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
Previous managerial experience of engineering in a live broadcast environment
Comprehensive and extensive knowledge of broadcast technologies both current and in development including IP workflows, UHD, HDR, OB and remote workflows, vision and audio workflows and comms
Demonstrated established and commercially productive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Relevant broadcast engineering qualification and/or relevant industry experience
Production Health & Safety Training.

Provide creative solutions to technical challenges under pressure whilst working across multiple productions, effectively managing and prioritizing workload.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders whilst addressing technical issues.
Ability to manage and balance stakeholder demands
An ability to explain technical information clearly including preparing technical documents
