Technical Manager (Food Production)
Bernard Matthews Derby – DE23 8NT
Up to £60,000
As Technical Manager for the business, you will have overall responsibility for the safety, quality and legality of all products and ensuring that the Food Safety and Quality Management System is fully implemented in the factory.
Key tasks
- Maintain the Food Safety and Quality Management System, making and implementing improvements as required.
- Manage external customer audits, regulatory visits and BRC/IFS audits
- Oversee the supplier approval process, auditing suppliers where required.
- Manage the specifications for raw materials, packaging, intermediate product and finished product.
- Legality of products and product labelling
- Calibration of testing equipment
- Ensure Quality checks and internal auditing is conducted according to the schedule.
- Manage customer and consumer complaints and non-conformances including corrective actions.
About You:
- Strong food industry technical/quality assurance track record.
- Ideally educated to a degree level in a Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
- Good understanding of BRC and customer requirements.
- HACCP, Food Safety, and Food Hygiene qualified to intermediate level preferred.
