Carbon 60 are working with a fantastic company based in Avonmouth. We are currently recruiting for a technical engineer to start ASAP.
Pay : £38,000 - £41,000
Hours : 37.5 hours per week 08:00-16:30 Monday - Thursday, Friday 0800-1330

As the Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and drawing of one-off machined components and electro-mechanical assemblies to aid in the repair of a diverse range of machines, but typically those found in the water industry. The company is also involved in the fabrication, manufacture and installation of a range of different access structures, which also require drawings in accordance to BS EN 1090.
You will produce fully detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings plus supporting documentation, communicating design intent clearly with our workshop, site-based engineers and also to present to our customers.
Responsible for assisting the management team with quotations for customers or potential customers (internally and externally) for Mechanical, Electrical and Fabrication products or services. Assisting with the delivery of works and projects on time and in budget and making sure that works are carried out to company and customer's satisfaction in a safe and professional manner. Assist the engineering team within the workshop and on site if required with hands on assistance and/or engineering solutions
- Providing engineering Services and solutions to our wide customer base
- Ensure that all works are carried out in a safe and professional manner and that all safe systems of work and health & safety requirements are adhered to
- Responsible for ensuring all documentation required is completed by engineers and the customer.
- Delivering allocated Projects on time and on budget
- Ensure that project requirements are understood before beginning works;
- Responsible for making sure that all tools and equipment needed for the works are ready before starting a job
- Liaising with customers face to face to determine their needs and requirements;
- Working with the buyer to get best price for materials and equipment;
- Producing and sending Risk Assessments and Method Statements to customers within agreed timescales.
- Ensure Risk Assessment & Method Statements are completed and up-to-date for relevant site and all site engineers fully briefed
Person Specification - Qualifications and/or Experience required:
- HND or Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant subject
- CSCS/IOSH working safely
- Thames Water passport to safety - Desirable
- City & Guilds Confined space trained
- Full UK Driving license
- Emergency First Aid Trained
- EUSR Blue Water Hygiene Card - Desirable
Person Specification - Skills & Knowledge required:
- 1 to 2 years' experience working in an, Engineering, 'M&E' and/or building services environment
- HNC/HND in electro/mechanical engineering is desirable
- Strong level of competence in the use of SolidWorks 3D CAD software primarily and the ability to use AutoCAD 2D or similar design package
- Knowledge of the water industry is advantageous, but not a necessity.
- Self-motivated and a strong aptitude to completing multiple projects in parallel
- A keen interest in engineering, a positive attitude towards learning and working as part of a team
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Good at customer facing
- Excellent I.T. Skills
- The ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent problem solving skills
- The ability to work with a wide range of people and personalities
