Job description

Technical Delivery Manager
Northampton

As a Barclays Technical Delivery Manager, you will be working in a complex data driven environment, providing insight and leadership in defining best practise and strategy for Asset Securitisation data. You will play a key role within Treasury and take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of Treasury Services projects as defined by the business teams. You will be a leader to motivated team members, fostering team spirit among team members and colleagues in various geographical locations, participating in and contributing to programme.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality, and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Performing end-to-end delivery of Treasury Services programmes/projects, with full ownership of the technology deliverables by teams reporting into this role
  • Working with technology teams across geographical locations, and ensuring delivered capability meets the scope and requirements agreed with business stakeholders
  • Creating a plan to track projects, and ensuring timely delivery, adhering Treasury Services solutions with Barclays Data governance standards and guidelines
  • Collaborating with architecture and business analyst teams to ensure alignment of Treasury Services capability with the architecture design principles
  • Managing risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies for Treasury Services programmes
  • Ensuring appropriate quality assurance of the deliverables, and successful transition of projects into production with appropriate logging and control framework
  • Managing programme financials that include delivery estimates, forecasts, variance analysis and budget planning
  • Ensuring project governance and production of associated documentation mandated by Barclays Change Governance Standards

What we’re looking for:
• Skills and understanding in managing large complex delivery programmes or a portfolio of programmes as a technical delivery manager
  • Experience in supporting a team of permanent and managed service team members in multiple locations and experience in engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in multiple software development lifecycle methodologies, especially Agile and waterfall
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with global teams and stakeholders

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Awareness or hands on experience working on Cloud technologies (public and private cloud)
  • Working knowledge and experience of tools like .Net, SQL server
  • Prior experience of aligning delivery processes to Agile methodology and DevOps
  • Experience and knowledge of regulatory programmes and Treasury/Investment banking domain

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
