Technical Content Editor
Location: Remote with travel to RICS offices as and when required
Job type: Permanent
Salary: £25,000 to £32,000 DOE
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Editorial Team Leader, the purpose of this role is to edit and typeset complex technical documents, and marketing and communication content. The successful candidate will meet our quality and accuracy standards and show evidence of being able to drive solutions forward. The goal is to provide our membership with accurate and engaging content that looks professional and on-brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Editing and project managing selected products produced in various formats
- Guaranteeing a high level of quality control, ensuring published material is in line with house style and Brand guidelines
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of suitable content
- Providing editorial advice to other colleagues across the organisation, as required
Experience / Skills Required
- Demonstrable experience of editing complex, information-rich publications
- Knowledge of legal issues in publishing, including copyright and plagiarism
- A high standard of written English, with strong writing skills developed in a professional or technical publishing environment
- Knowledge of the Adobe suite, including InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator
- First-class copyediting and proofreading skills
- Experience using a content management system
- Ability to critically assess document structure and provide feedback to stakeholders
- Able to work autonomously, while remaining engaged with the wider team
