A rare job opportunity has come up on one of our specialist teams at First Care. Adhoc team is known for its variety of work and higher level of training completed on site with our own training team, this is still an entry level to start always a good start of the stepping stone to ambulance work.

The role will require you to transport low dependency patients to and from treatment centres in a comfortable, caring, compassionate, empathetic and reassuring, timely manner to defined standards based on the principles of CQC standard domains – Caring, Responsive, Effective, Well Led and Safe – C.R.E.W.S.


Full time 4 out of 7 days a week

Working as an Ambulance Care Assistant is highly rewarding, allowing you to make a difference to the experience of patients living with illnesses.


Here at First Care we pride ourselves in working an Ad-Hoc basis which means you get to do a variety of jobs including reputation of patients to event medial cover.


Key elements of the role


  • Maintain high standards of patient Care demonstrated by maintaining patient dignity, respect and privacy, communicating effectively delivering a service in an empathetic manner
  • Support the delivery of a Responsive service delivery to meet individual needs of patients and continual improvement of service delivery, providing the necessary level of flexibility, working beyond shift finish times to complete duties
  • Effective service by working effectively as a team to ensure patient centred care and service
  • Support the management team to ensure well led service by reporting concerns, communicating with line managers
  • Provide Safe services by the safe use of equipment and vehicles, safe comfortable driving and maintenance of infection control standards
  • Use and care of equipment
  • Reliable and on-time
  • Timeliness of reporting completion or amendments to planned journeys
  • Careful and considerate drivers.

  • Understanding of patients' abilities (conditions/ limitations)
  • Good people skills with a polite and friendly manner
  • You will be required to move patients
  • A good knowledge of the local area
  • A full driving licence
  • An enhanced disclosure check is required (DBS) cost will be covered by the business
  • Able to provide a minimum of 2 references covering a 5 year period before commencing work
