We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Artist to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Technical Artist, you will collaborate closely with game development teams, artists, and engineers to create visually stunning and technically advanced gaming experiences. You will provide technical guidance, develop efficient workflows and pipelines, and drive innovation in art production processes across our portfolio of gaming investments.

• Lead and provide technical expertise in art production pipelines, tools, and workflows to ensure high-quality visuals and optimal performance in our gaming investments.
• Collaborate with game development teams to define and establish art production standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistent quality across projects.
• Help design and implement efficient asset creation and optimization processes, including shaders, textures, materials, lighting, and special effects, while considering technical constraints and performance requirements.
• Help develop art production tools and scripts to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and automate repetitive tasks.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to artists and art teams, helping them solve complex technical challenges and optimize their workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate art assets into game engines, ensuring compatibility and optimizing performance on target platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in real-time rendering and other relevant areas, and provide recommendations for their application in our portfolio.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless integration of art assets and technical features.
• Conduct performance analysis and optimization of art assets and game content to achieve optimal frame rates and memory usage.
• Act as a liaison between art, engineering, and production teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration on tech art subject related issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Computer Graphics, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
• Extensive experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating visually stunning and technically advanced art assets.
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools and software, such as Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Suite, Houdini, Unity, Unreal Engine, and equivalent.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in languages such as Python, C#, or C++ to develop and maintain art production tools and scripts when needed.
• In-depth knowledge of real-time rendering techniques, shaders, lighting, materials, and asset optimization strategies.
• Solid understanding of game development processes, including art asset pipelines, version control systems, and content management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to art production and integration.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide art teams, set technical direction, and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming trends, aesthetics, and player preferences.
