University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust is one of the largest acute hospital Trusts in England serving the populations of Birmingham and Solihull. This is a UHB cross-site mortuary anatomical pathology technician role across the Trust's four main hospital sites, Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEHB), Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (BHH), Good Hope Hospital (GHH) and Solihull Hospital (SOL).
The mortuary team form an integral link between Cellular Pathology, Bereavement Care and the Medical Examiners Service and are responsible for delivering high quality, efficient mortuary services to the Trust and its patients. Trust mortuaries are open twenty four hours per day seven days per week to receive deceased patients and a limited on-call service is provided for technical advice out of hours, which the post holder may be expected to participate in as part of a rotation.
