Job description

If you enjoy admin, marketing or want to get some experience in these skills this could be the role for you. Volunteers like you give their time behind the scenes to support the team provide people in their local community with wheelchairs and other equipment to help them get moving again after an illness or injury. Spread the power of kindness with us and help make sure that everyone who needs one can get a wheelchair. We would like volunteers who: • Are available for at least 4 hours per week on a regular basis • Can volunteer for at least 6 months The service operating hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. **Health and Safety Statement** We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment. We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need. Why we want you: We need volunteers to help out “behind the scenes” so that that everyone who needs one can get a wheelchair. In this role you could be lending a hand with admin, helping with marketing, or assisting in one of our warehouses. Whatever you do you will be making a great contribution and joining a friendly team of people who together provide 75,000 wheelchairs a year across the UK.

  • Tasks: Basic office admin

    Arranging wheelchair deliveries and collections

    Phoning customers to remind them their equipment is due for return or to extend the return date

    Helping with promotion and marketing

  • Skills: Responsible, reliable, organised

    Good IT skills and willing to learn our system

    Good people skills

    Happy to use the phone to contact customers

    Ideally able to commit to regular volunteering (eg one session per week)
