An opportunity has arisen for a Team Support within the Primary System Design team based at Lamby Way, Cardiff.
The Primary System Design team is responsible for the design of the 33kV, 66kV and 132kV distribution network throughout National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) and for the provision of technical support to Network Services and other teams across the business.
As a Team Support you will be responsible for providing administrative support to all members of the PSD South Wales Team and for communicating directly with various internal and external stakeholders including customer’s applying to connect to the NGED network.
- Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

Main Responsibilities- Process Connection Surgery, Budget Estimates and Connection Offer enquiries using Crown. This also involves determining whether customers have provided the minimum information required for assessment by NGED and confirming reference numbers and key dates to the customer.
- Manage the PSD Team inbox for new connection requests and activity prompts within Crown.
- Handle internal and external queries from customers regarding new applications and on-going schemes.
- Produce scheme documentation as required i.e. Construction Files, Connection Agreements, Adoption Agreements, Novation Agreements, MPAN’s and CT Pre Note Requests.
- Raise advance capital sanction documentation and External Billing Requests (Invoices / Credit Notes / Refunds) for all accepted schemes.
- Process Invoices and Purchase Orders using E5. Liaise with Credit Control regarding outstanding invoices.
- Close enquiries down and manage internal databases and trackers for open and closed connection and reinforcement schemes.
- Liaise with the Statement of Works Team with regards to co-ordinating newly accepted connections.
- Production of KPI and Connection Summary Reports.
- Provide administrative support to the Team Manager and the team, i.e. arranging meetings, catering, hire cars, travel and accommodation.
- Excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills.
- Good understanding of business processes and statutory requirements.
- An enthusiastic team player as well as being able to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Experienced in using a range of IT systems with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
External candidates are required to have A*-C grade in GCSE Maths and English or a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects.
