Strange’s has a position opening for a part time Nursery Team Member at the Short Pump Garden Center. This team member is responsible for maintaining nursery department operations, maintenance, and organization as well as completing related tasks given by management.
The essential candidate is comfortable working in an outdoor environment, has foundational knowledge on trees, shrubs, and perennials, and exhibits exceptional customer service skills.
Scheduling : Candidates must be able to work day shifts between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM 3 days a week (includes 1 weekend day consistently throughout the year).
Job Responsibilities
- Assists customers and presents them with nursery department product information
- Communicates frequently with management regarding possible nursery product issues such as disease or pest problems
- Labels and prices plant material
- Moves containerized shrubs, plants and trees using appropriate nursery equipment
- Maintains plant material and distributes product/goods
- Maintains cleanliness of nursery area and maintains grounds/landscaping
- Assists the Nursery Manager with watering, fertilizing, spacing, pruning and maintaining inventory of nursery crops
