Loomis International (CA) Inc. is the spearheading office representing Canada on a national scale. Our office is in a Small Business format located in Mississauga, close to Pearson Airport, and is ready for expansion.
We are looking for qualified individuals to maintain the safe and secure custody and control of items of high value being transported between client locations, airport cargo warehouses, and other secure locations. Other expectations include conducting motor vehicle inspections of Loomis International (CA) vehicles used in the performance of duties.
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, Road Crew Members are the responsible for point of contact for Loomis International (CA) Inc. with their customers. The ideal candidate has experience as a messenger, guard, and driver.
Responsibilities:
- Making decisions in accordance with prescribed Loomis International (CA) Standard Operating Procedures and Use of Force options.
- Possessing a strong proficiency to read and write in English. Bilingualism will be considered a strong asset.
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism in an armed, uniform capacity.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact constantly with co-workers, clients, and the general public.
- Conducting daily vehicle pre-trip inspections to ensure compliance with regulations set out by the Ministry of Transportation.
- Safely operating commercial motor vehicles in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.
- Above average attention to detail: Counting items, recording amounts and serial numbers, signing, and dating receipts and manifests, sorting individual items according to manifests.
- Maintaining accurate paperwork, the order of shipment and collection manifests.
- Ensuring communication devices, keys, and various security equipment is operational.
- Must maintain situational awareness of surroundings, the environment, including persons within the vicinity at all times when carrying out duties to minimize risk.
- Must maintain adherence to time constraints when affected by mechanical problems, traffic congestion, and adverse weather conditions.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- At least 21 years of age
- At least a 3-year driving record
- Capability of lifting objects that weigh 50-75 pounds.
- Ability to obtain Drivers Abstract
- Must possess a valid Canadian Firearms License (Possession and Acquisition License with both Restricted and Non-Restricted).
- Must be able to complete requirements by the Ontario Chief Firearms Office to obtain and maintain an Authorization to Carry Permit for Restricted and Prohibited Firearms.
