Job Description: Soft Play Team Member

Position Overview: As a Soft Play Team Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and enjoyable experience of children and families visiting the soft play area. You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean and secure environment, assisting with customer interactions, and promoting a fun and engaging atmosphere for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:

  • Greet visitors with a friendly and welcoming demeanour.
  • Provide information about the soft play area, including safety rules, age restrictions, and facility layout.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, concerns, and feedback, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer transactions, such as admission fees, memberships, and concessions.
  • Host children’s birthday parties.

Safety and Supervision:

  • Monitor the soft play area to ensure the safety of all children and visitors.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and rules to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Offer guidance and support to children during play to ensure a positive experience.
  • Intervene in situations where safety or behaviour concerns arise, maintaining a calm and composed demeanour.

Maintaining Cleanliness:

  • Regularly clean and sanitise play structures, toys, and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address any maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly.
  • Keep the play area tidy by organizing toys, seating areas, and other facilities.
  • Attend monthly deep clean sessions.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with fellow team members to ensure smooth operations and seamless transitions between shifts.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to share information about customer feedback, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
  • Assist in training new team members on safety protocols, customer service standards, and operational procedures.

Promotion and Engagement:

  • Foster a positive and engaging environment for children and families through interactive play and activities.
  • Facilitate group play sessions, games, and events to enhance the soft play experience.
  • Encourage participation and interaction among children to promote socialization and active play.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially when dealing with children and families.
  • Prior experience in customer service, childcare, or recreational settings is a desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to stay alert and focused while supervising the play area.
  • Physical fitness to actively engage with children and handle equipment maintenance tasks.
  • Enthusiasm for creating a safe, fun, and enjoyable environment for children.

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting.
  • Work hours nclude weekends, holidays, and evenings, as soft play centres often operate during peak times for families.
