Bean Coffee
Full Time Liverpool, England 10.42 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

We are on the lookout for a barista to join our team in Speke.

We are an independent coffee roasters based in the North West, with stores throughout Liverpool and Greater Manchester. We focus on quality, people, and sustainability.

We roast our award-winning coffee in our roastery on Brunswick Dock, Liverpool. All our coffee is sourced from independent farms across Africa, South America, and Asia, ensuring traceability. This also means that we can guarantee all our beans are sustainably and ethically produced.

Working for Bean you get that work-life balance, that is quite rare in hospitality. You'll be working Monday to Friday, with the chance of working some weekend events, if you wish. That also means you don’t work bank holidays!

By being part of the team, you are a brand ambassador, you live and breathe good coffee, but also making it accessible for everyone. We believe everyone can make a good brew, it's just up to you to share that knowledge with your team and customers.

You'll get to drink a lot of coffee... for free! You’ll also get lunch in store for free.

We're a social bunch, so there are many times throughout the year we will get together for a good time. From staff parties to coffee events, and even charity fun days!

Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments (by card and cash).
  • Preparing foods, such as paninis, toasties and sandwiches, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
  • Highlighting the differences between items and educating customers about coffee preparation when needed.
  • Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying waste, and sanitising equipment and utensils.
  • Learning about food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve serving quality.
  • Working in as part of a fun, high-energy team.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of dealing face-to-face with customers (preferably as a barista or similar).
  • Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred (although full training will be provided).
  • Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills.
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and school-holidays.
  • A polite, engaging personality.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
