Job description

About the role and our team

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Social Work Team Manager with a variety of knowledge and experience to join our Initial Response Team on the Isle of Man!

Within this role, you will manage our out of hours and youth justice Social Workers, who often look after cases for investigation, assessment and short term planning, so the ability to provide efficient and effective management, supervision and support to a small team is key.

You will be joining a service that is currently in the process of transformation where your experience and ideas will be key in developing the support and intervention we provide to children and young people, giving you the opportunity to make a positive impact to the service users here on the Island.

The main focus of our team is to provide the best outcomes for young people and their families. You will have an active role in this by:

  • Providing direct management, supervision and professional support to staff directly reporting to you
  • Ensuring that Youth Justice is appropriately managed and developed
  • Supporting the extended management team in providing leadership and driving service delivery and improvement
  • Being accountable for performance management of the team
  • Contributing to the operation of the ‘out of hours’ service by developing and taking a place on the rota

What can this role offer me?

You will be working within an experienced management team, where ideas are listened to and personal and professional development is high on the agenda.

If working flexibly is important to you, you’ll be happy to know we operate a flexi-time system making it easier to reclaim any additional hours worked and to fit your other commitments around your work life.
