Job description
Job Description
St. Helens is a Council with high ambitions, a place full of energy and focus and an exciting future ahead. Our vision is to work together for a better borough, with people at the heart of everything we do.
Located in the heart of the north-west close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a transformational Council, which is passionate and ambitious for the communities we support. We provide a wide range of local authority services to the residents, businesses, schools, and visitors to the borough. We can only do this because of our highly valued, highly skilled workforce.
Working together, our workplace vision and values guide our organisation, and the contribution of our workforce is key to our culture journey. Employees receive a wide range of benefits including well-being in work, financial benefits including a Car Leasing Scheme, new ways of hybrid working and learning and development support.
There is no better time to join us and become part of our improvement journey and help drive innovative change across our services.
In this newly created role, you will report to the Head of Audit and Risk, leading and promoting corporate health and safety and resilience functions across the Council.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and performance driven individual to provide high quality professional advice to ensure compliance, supporting our senior leadership team and liaising with our partners and stakeholders.
You will be able to maintain effective and productive customer relationships, motivate and develop staff.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join and be part of a forward-thinking local authority, for someone who wants to shape and improve assurance services across a wide range of Council activities.
