A vacancy has arisen to appoint a new team manager for our Single Point of Access Service. This is a full time role and the service is open 7 days per week from 8am to 8pm. Some weekend working may be required to support the team.
The successful applicant will be educated to diploma/degree level and registered with the appropriate professional body registration. Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team or service and 2 years experience at band 6 or equivalent are essential requirements for the role.
We are looking for a great communicator as the team manager liaises with all providers necessary to the health and social and wellbeing of the patient and their families/carers. Develop relationships with GP’s, secondary care providers, community services, ambulance providers, clinical commissioning groups, local authority and 3rd sector partners inclusive of safeguarding.
Main duties of the job
To work as a Team Leader within the Single Point of Access with responsibility for local management and leadership of the team
Accountable to the Head of Operations, the team manager reports to the Head of Clinical Services and is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of the Single Point of Access, providing leadership to the team of clinical and non clinical staff.
To manage, lead and be accountable for the provision of high quality effective leadership and management of the team and ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient flow within budgetary resources.
To support the team in delivering the Single Point of Access for patients, to liaise with referring clinicians and to provide a safe journey for patients requiring access to health services.
To develop the team and the service with a patient centred approach and using developed managerial and leadership skills to promote excellent working practice., promoting the rights of service users in line with local, regional and national strategies.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to diploma/degree level and registered with the appropriate professional body registration
- To possess specialist knowledge across a range of procedures underpinned by theory
- Masters level qualification or equivalent short courses and/or experience in relevant area
- A recognised management qualification e.g. MBA, DMS or equivalent management experience and training.

- To possess specialist knowledge across a range of relevant procedures underpinned by theory
- Knowledge of social and care health legislation and ability to apply knowledge appropriately.
- Knowledge on the delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service

- Experience of developing specialist programmes of care/care packages
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office

- Knowledge of undertaking surveys or audits
- Knowledge of undertaking equipment testing and adaptation
