We seek a team leader with a flexible approach, the ability to lead, motivate and deliver our business and our inclusive people priorities. You will promote our ambitions around equality, diversity and inclusion ensuring that everyone works towards creating a life-enhancing place to work. You will also play a leading role in shaping our five-year local outcome plan which converts our ambition into delivery.
We have 4 permanent team leader positions; we offer development and support. In Cumbria & Lancashire we work as ‘one-team’ and as a Team Leader you need to be flexible leading different teams, responding to business demand throughout your career. In addition to the permanent role we are considering a pool of potential leaders to build resilience and capacity for the future.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The team
Our leadership roles cover a diverse range of teams across the whole of Cumbria and Lancashire. We are recruiting to teams that work in a variety of different locations both office and field based. The role will be based at our Preston or Penrith office. You will be part of the Area Leadership Group helping to make Cumbria and Lancashire an even better place to work and live.
Experience/skills required
Our people are our number one priority. You will be passionate about leading, developing and supporting people and will be a positive role model who can inspire others.
You will be able to balance and manage demands on the team from internal and external sources to help prioritise and manage workloads.
You will have strong leadership skills and believe that providing great leadership is fundamental to our ability to protect and improve the environment.
You should have experience of leading people and this may have been achieved through non-team leader roles such as project management or a technical specialist/leader role.
In Cumbria & Lancashire we have a strong culture focussed on Health, Safety & Wellbeing. You must be able be demonstrate your awareness of keeping yourself and others safe and well.
Whilst not essential, knowledge and experience of working in asset management or previous environmental experience would be desirable.
